At Barrowford Primary School, our curriculum is centered around a series of engaging big questions that encourage curiosity and spark a love for learning. These questions are designed to stimulate critical thinking and provide opportunities for students to explore a range of subjects in depth. EYFS and Year 1

Year 1/2

- Summer: How can we protect wild rabbits?
Year 3
- Autumn: Are explorers and invaders the same?
- Spring: Were ancient people more environmentally friendly than us?
- Summer: What qualities make a great scientist?
Year 4
- Autumn: What do the treasures of history tell us about ancient civilisations?
- Spring: Does reintroducing animals help or hinder the ecosystem?
- Summer: How can communities protect themselves from floods?
Year 5
- Autumn: Who do you think you are?
- Spring: Humans or nature: which is most important?
- Summer: Is war ever right?
Year 6
- Autumn – Has the movement of people affected Britain? (Whose story is told?)
- Spring – What would a world without ice or rain look like?
- Summer – What Might Human Beings Look Like in the Future- and what did people in the past think it looked like?
